The foreword and introduction of Joining Jesus on His Mission helps to demystify one of the biggest fears for Christians:  Evangelism. Christians often have no problem going to Church, wearing a cross around their neck, or updating the social media status every Easter or Christmas withChristian greetings.  But they too often fear sharing the gospel with strangers and even more so with their friends and co-workers.

The book Joining Jesus on His Mission explains that building Christ’s church is Christ’s mission—not ours.  Remember what Jesus declared to his disciples:“[O]n this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”  Matthew 16:18 (ESV).  Jesus has done and will do everything he has ever said he would; building his church is no different.  

Starting in January 2020, Holy Cross North Miami will read this book as a church family to learn how to join Jesus on his mission.  Scriptures teach that noChristians have the ability to change anyone’s heart or to bring them to faith in Jesus.  That is solely the work of theHoly Spirit.  Corinthians 3:6.  But we do have a role to play and the honor to join with Jesus to accomplish a mission that we know will never fail:  Building Christ’s Church.
