Faithful Through Generations: Celebrating 75 Years of Ministry and Service

In 2026, Holy Cross Lutheran Church and School joyfully celebrates 75 years of ministry and service in North Miami, Florida. This milestone is more than a anniversary - it is a sacred moment to pause, remember, and give thanks for God’s unwavering faithfulness across generations. Under the theme “Faithful Through Generations,” we reflect on where God has led us, rejoice in where we are today, and look forward with hope to all that is yet to come.

Rooted in Faith, Built on God’s Promises

Seventy-five years ago, a faithful group of believers answered God’s call to plant a Lutheran congregation in North Miami. With prayerful hearts and a shared commitment to Christ, they laid a foundation grounded in God’s Word and His promises. From those early worship services and that one building that served as both a Santuary on Sunday's and a classroom during the weekday, to the thriving ministry we know today, Holy Cross has been shaped by faithful servants who trusted God step by step.

Through seasons of growth and change, challenge and renewal, one truth has remained constant: God is faithful. As Scripture reminds us, “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning” (Lamentations 3:22–23). That promise has carried Holy Cross through every generation.

A Church and School Shaping Lives

Holy Cross Lutheran Church and School has always been more than a building - it is a FAMILY. For decades, children have learned not only academics, but also the truth that they are deeply loved by Jesus. Families have gathered around Word and Sacrament, finding comfort, forgiveness, and strength. Lifelong friendships have been formed, faith has been nurtured, and countless lives have been touched by God’s grace.

From baptisms to confirmations, weddings to funerals, Sunday worship to weekday classrooms, Holy Cross has walked alongside God’s people in every stage of life. Each generation has added its own chapter to the story - teachers, pastors, staff, volunteers, students, parents, and members - all united in Christ.

Faithful Through Generations

Our anniversary theme, “Faithful Through Generations,” honors both the legacy we have received and the responsibility we carry forward. We give thanks for those who came before us—their sacrifices, prayers, and vision. At the same time, we celebrate the children, youth, and families who represent the future of Holy Cross.

Faith is not something we keep to ourselves; it is something we pass on. At Holy Cross, that passing on happens every day - through worship, education, service, and community outreach. God continues to work through ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things for His kingdom.

A Congregation of Faith and Purpose

As we celebrate 75 years, we do so with hearts full of gratitude and eyes fixed on the future. God is not finished with Holy Cross Lutheran Church and School. He continues to call us to be a congregation of faith and purpose - sharing Christ’s love, proclaiming His truth, and serving our neighbors with compassion.

We look ahead with confidence, trusting the same God who guided our founders will guide us into the years to come. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we remain committed to our mission: to make disciples, to educate hearts and minds in Christ, and to be a beacon of hope in North Miami and beyond.

As we celebrate this milestone year, we are also excited to look forward to all that 2026 holds for Holy Cross Lutheran Church and School. Throughout the year ahead, we will be hosting a variety of family-friendly activities designed to bring people together in joy, fellowship, and faith.

These celebrations will be open to all - alumni, current members, families, students, and friends - and we especially invite you to bring along those who may be looking for a church and school community to call home. Whether you have been connected to Holy Cross for decades or are just discovering us, there will be something for everyone to enjoy as we celebrate God’s faithfulness together.

Giving Thanks and Moving Forward

This anniversary is a celebration of God’s goodness - past, present, and future. We rejoice in 75 years of blessings and boldly step into the next chapter, knowing that the Lord who has been faithful through generations will remain faithful still.
