“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful
stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10
At Holy Cross there are great opportunities to serve the Lord, by either being s servant
leader, helping in the Food Pantry, or just simply joining a ministry and volunteering
Food Pantry: Garden Of Eatin'
Wednesdays from 11:30am-2:30pm
The food pantry was established in August 2010 by Mrs. Debbie Sanchez who had the vision to uplift this ministry to achieve the purpose of being a helping hand for the community. Since then we have had numerous donations from members of the congregation, as well as outside donators. A school family brought in large amounts of food and this was a stepping stone to start the ministry. A high school student collected a significant amount of cans and was generous enough to donate them to our pantry and this filled up 95% of the pantry. God has blessed this ministry immensely by allowing us to feed about 30 families a week and sometimes more! To see these families’ faces light up when they receive food is a true blessing in itself.
Heart 2 Heart
Holy Cross Lutheran Church has partnered with the Heart to Heart ministry and adopted a local nursing home to do senior outreach. Every first and third Saturday of the month, this group gets together to visit the nursing home and spend time with the residents there.
